JAMMU, July 6: The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has said that the `lies and deceit’ of the BJP to the PoJK refugees has been exposed by a communication of the Delimitation Commission to the Jammu based organisation of refugees of 1947 from PoJK.
Chief spokesperson of JKPCC Ravinder Sharma while referring to a copy of the communication to the Convenor of MJR-47, Dr JS Sudan said that the Commission has quoted the provisions of law, especially the J&K Reorganization Act, 2019, which has turned down the request of PoJK refugees to defreeze seats for them out of 24 Assembly seats reserved for residents of PoJK.
Refusing to entertain the plea of the refugees of PoJK for de-freezing seats for the displaced community out of the 24 Assembly seats kept reserved for PoJK, the Commission has cited the relevant provisions of law in support of their rejection of the claim.
Sharma said that this clearly proved the lies and deceit of BJP and its Government to the demand of PoJK refugees who were promised from time to time for carving out 8 seats for them out of 24 seats of PoJk.The provisions cited were there in the constitution as well as incorporated in the reorganization act of 2019 too but BJP continues to hoodwink and befool the refugees.
“The BJP should answer to the displaced community and come out clear on the issue to fulfill the commitment with them,” Sharma said.
