JAMMU, July 7: Alleging pick and choose by the authorities of the School Education Department in the Annual Transfer Drive (ATD)-2021, a protest demonstration was held by the leadership of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, near Press club, here today.
JKTF leaders from the Zone Jammu, Bhalwal, Gandhi Nagar, Marh and Satwari, under the leadership of District President Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, took part in the protest demonstration.
The JKTF rejected the tentative transfer lists issued last week by the Chief Education Officers of Jammu Division and strongly condemned the authorities at the helm of affairs who haven’t applied their minds in preparing these Tentative Transfer Lists.
The speakers alleged pick & choose policy in transfers to give the benefit only to some blue-eyed teachers. They pointed out a sizeable number of teachers who have been given special consideration to accord them undue benefits whereas hundreds of teachers who are working in the far flung areas since more than 8 years to 12 years have been looking for their transfer to some suitable place but once again they have been duped in the name of the online transfers.
While addressing the protesting teachers, Bharat Bhushan Sharma appealed to the Principal Secretary Deptt of School Education, B K Singh and Director School Education Jammu Ravi Shanker Sharma to look personally in the matter and issue the directions to the concerned corners to review the faulty Tentative Transfer Lists and prepare the Transfer Lists afresh strictly as per the set norms of the Transfer Policy.
Those who were part of the protest, included Haji Mohd Iqwal, P D Singh, Ashwani Raina, Balraj Singh, Pawan Sharma, Davinder Singh, Parveen Kumar, Abhishek Khajuria, Sushil Khajuria, K D Singh, Ramandeep Sharma, Ajeet Singh, Khalil Choudhary, Naresh Gupta, Mohd Shahnaz, Ajay Kumar, Kuldeep Sharma, Suresh Sawhney, Sachin Amla, Mushtaq Ahmad, Raj Hussain, S Ravinder Singh, Gurdev Singh, Kailash Sharma, Ravinder Singh, Subash Sharma, Sushil Sharma, Shehnaz Choudhary, Naresh Gupta, Bua Ditta, Narottam Sharma and others.
