JAMMU, July 14: J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) has urged the Chief Secretary to convene the meeting of Establishment Committee to clear the regularization of Engineers of Power Development Department.
The appeal was made during a meeting of JKEEGA, held under the presidium of Sachin Tickoo, general secretary, Alok Kumar Dubey, Vice-President; Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial Publicity Secretary; Yash Paul, organizing secretary and Vipul Sharma, treasurer.
JKEEGA reminded that SAC meeting held on 22-10-2019 had directed for regular promotions in PDD on fast track at department level without referring to Public Service Commission as one time exception and whole process was supposed to be completed within two months by November 30, 2019. Accordingly in pursuance to the SAC decision, the empowered committee was constituted but despite lapse of more than 15 months, the regularization orders are yet to see light of the day, said the meet.
JKEEGA appealed the Chief Secretary to issue fresh directions to the General Administration Department to urgently convene the meeting of the Establishment Committee for placing the proposals submitted by the empowered committee for the regularization as per the mandate of the GAD order number 308-JK(GD) of 2020, dated 02/03/2020, which has already been delayed due to Covid pandemic.
It would be a great step in clearing the long backlog of the regularization pending in the PDD as the serving Engineers can not also be regularized till the backlog is cleared, added the Association.
