BOPEE cancels all papers of CET

JAMMU, June 28: In a surprising development, the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) today cancelled the Combined Entrance Examination (CET) of Physics and Mathematics papers, which were held on June 22 and 23.
Now, fresh dates for the conduct of Combined Entrance Test for all the four papers will be notified separately as the CET for Biology and Chemistry papers, which was scheduled to be held on July 5, also stands cancelled, says a notification issued by BOPEE, late this evening.
Pertinent to mention here that following `leakage’ of CET question paper at some centers in Srinagar, the BOPEE had postponed the Biology and cancelled Chemistry papers on June 22 while July 5 was fixed as fresh date for conduct of these two papers.
When contacted, BOPEE Chairman Prof R D Sharma said that it would likely to take at least a month for conducting CET of all the four papers even as the Board was trying its best to ensure that the candidates may not suffer due to cancellation of the papers.
While Prof Sharma refused to divulge the reason behind cancellation of Physics and Mathematic papers, highly placed sources told the Excelsior that some influential in the State Government managed to prevail upon the BOPEE in getting all the papers cancelled for personal reasons.
