Bail rejected in online fraud case

JAMMU, Aug 5: The Special Excise Mobile Magistrate, Jammu Umesh Sharma has rejected the bail application of one Parveen alias Pannu son of Munshi Ram resident of Kurukshetra, Haryana who was found involved in an online fraud job case and accordingly booked under a case registered in FIR No 16/2021 under Sections 420,120-B,201-IPC, 66-D of Information Technology Act registered at Cyber Police Station Jammu Zone, Jammu.
According to police report, Parveen alias Pannu is leader of a gang of fraudsters who in league with other accused persons, under a criminal conspiracy, approached victim Priya Raina through various mobile numbers including 909082106 and lured her to provide a job in Axis Bank. He further asked her to deposit an amount of Rs. 4,68,000 in his account number opened in Canara bank Branch Kurukshetra, existing on name of Parveen, alias Pannu son of Munshi Ram.
Accordingly, the accused was arrested by a team of Cyber Police Station Jammu Zone on 12.07.2021 from Kurukhshetra, Haryana. Yogesh Bamba APP Excise Court Jammu appeared and argued on behalf of the State.
After hearing both sides, the special Excise Mobile Magistrate, observed, “I have considered prayer of the accused for the bail in various circumstances. In view of the facts and circumstances of the case, I am of the considered view that a strong prima Facie has been made out against accused. Offences allegedly to have been committed by accused are very serious in nature and are considered as menace and threat to the delinquent of modern and progressive society.”
He further observed that evidences placed on record by the counsel for applicant/accused in support of his case, are clearly distinguishable from facts of the instant case. The Mobile Magistrate further held that in view of what has been discussed in Court, the prayer of applicant for grant of bail is rejected and application is dismissed.
