JAMMU, Aug 5: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has demanded the Government to give retrospective pension option to subscribers of erstwhile J&K Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO).
President BMS, Ashfaq Ahmed Chouhan said that the Central Government has brought peace and development in Jammu Kashmir and smile on the faces of workers of private sector by merging the JK Provident Fund Organization with Central Government EPFO as BMS was struggling for merger of J&K EPFO since long.
He said after the merger of J&K EPFO with Central Government EPFO, pension benefit are also being extended to the subscribers but in the present set up all the benefits under Central EPFO will be implemented from 1-11-2019 but the subscribers who are contributing from last more than 10 years and have left with service of less than 10 years, they will not be entitled for pension benefits.
Stating that as a result of this more than three lakhs subscribers will be deprived from pension benefits, Chouhan appealed the Central Government that in the interest of workers/subscribers the Government should give pension option to those who are subscribers of J&K EPFO since long and voluntarily want to surrender part of their contributions as required under Employees Pension Scheme 1995 for availing pension benefit.
Senior leaders of BMS Harbans Choudhary, Chanan Singh Toor, Ashok Choudhary, Sachin Bali and Subash Chander said that it will be great service for the poor workers of private sector from Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
