DDC Samba convenes public grievances camp

SAMBA, July 2:    District Development Commissioner, R.K Varma on Tuesday conducted an extensive tour of village Surara, Rattanpur, Odh, Gungad and Ratwana of Samba district to take stock of grievances of the people besides reviewing status of ongoing development works in the area.
The DDC was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Executive Engineer, PWD, Chief Horticulture Oficer, Block Development Officer Ghagwal,  AD Food Supply and heads of various departments.
The DDC held public grievances camp at Surara and Odh village wherein people projected their demands and problems pertaining to repairing of roads/road connectivity to adjoining areas, conservation of old traditional water bodies, the availability of drinking water, regular supply of electricity, passenger shed at Surara and Odh, sewing centre at Surara, lanes and drains problem etc.
The DDC listened to the demands and problems being faced by the people patiently and assured them that all their issues would be redressed in a time bound manner. He instructed all the heads of the departments to work with missionary zeal and dedication for resolving the issues of people leaving no space for complaints.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said the motive behind holding such meetings was to have first hand knowledge about the problems of the people so that needful can be done to mitigate their sufferings.
He called upon Panchayat representatives to play their role in making people aware of different Government schemes as being nearer to people they are in a better position to serve their respective areas by properly identifying and executing the development works and welfare schemes.
He exhorted upon the officers to ensure that benefits of various development and welfare schemes reach to the real beneficiaries timely. He directed the concerned officers to create massive awareness about different State and Centrally sponsored schemes and stressed upon the Panchs and Sarpanchs to render their services with utmost zeal and dedication.
