Bawatalab CC beats Singh CC Akhnoor by 6 wkts, lifts title trophy

JAMMU, Aug 18: Bawatalab Cricket Club trounced Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor by six wickets in the final of the 1st Anil alias Happy Memorial Cricket Tournament, played at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, near here today.
Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor won the toss and decided to bat first. Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor scored 160 runs by losing nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Nittin Verma made highest 35 runs, whereas Bhupinder Singh scored 31 runs and Sunil Kumar and Sumit Rajput contributed 26 and 24 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Vikram got four wickets, whereas Sukhdev Singh clinched two wickets and Bhanu, Rohit and Munna shared one wicket each.
In reply, Bawatalab CC chased the target by losing only four wickets in 17.1 overs wherein Ajju made highest 79 runs, whereas Neelu scored 34 runs and Abbu and Martin contributed 26 and 15 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Sunil Kumar bagged two wickets whereas SS Langeh and Sumit Pandit shared one wicket each.
Ajju was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance with bat, whereas Sunil Bendy was announced as man of the series and Ajju and Sumit Pandit were declared as best batsman and best bowlers titles respectively.
Annu Langer, social activist was the chief guest on the occasion. He distributed the prize among the players in presence of Kr Sham Singh Langeh (General Secretary DJCA Jammu), Suresh Malhotra, Rajinder Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Jagdev Singh and many others.
The tournament was organized by Ravi Verma under the overall supervision of Kr Sham Singh Langeh.
