SAMBA, July 2: A large number of teachers of different zones of the district protested at DC office, Samba, for their long pending demands under the banner of J&K United School Teacher Association (USTA), here today.
Under leadership of Raj Kumar, district president, the teachers sat on day long dharna and held protest demonstration over which the authorizes have adopted lackadaisical approach.
Addressing the gathering USTA provincial president Hari Singh, strongly castigated the State Government for observing mysterious silence and inflicting innumerable economic hardships upon teachers of the State working under SSA due to non-release of their pending salary for last six months.
He also called upon the authorities to immediately convert all SSA posts of teachers in regular budget posts and concede other long pending demands like adjustment of all newly promoted lectures and masters, regularization of ReTs converted from EVs after seven years service, selection grade to undergraduate teachers, removal of pay anomalies and other relevant demands.
The USTA has warned for bigger struggle, if Government failed to release salaries and concede other demands at the earliest.
The dharna was addressed by Rajeev Kumar, Banarsi Dass, Seva Ram, Pradeep Singh, Dr Shashi Pal Singh, Zulfkar Ali Malik, Thoru Ram, Dibagh Choudhary, Kulwant Raj, Sham Lal, Raghvir Singh, Rattan Chand and Rajinder Shastri.
