JAMMU, July 2: Police today arrested six gamblers from Rajouri town and recovered Rs 39,000 from their possession.
They have been identified as Zulfiqar Dar, Tariq Agent, Abdul Rashid, Sunil Dutt, a police constable, Ravinder Sharma and Anil Gupta, all residents of Rajouri.
Police said they were gambling in the open when a police party headed by SHO Rajouri Inspector Varinder Gupta arrested them under the supervision of SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi.
From their possession, police recovered Rs 39,000. They have been booked under the Gambling Act at Rajouri police station.
