JAMMU, Aug 24: A woman died in accident at Patta Chungi chowk here today afternoon.
As per police sources, woman received serious injuries after a dumper hit her at Patta Chungi chowk here.
The profusely bleeding woman identified as Kanta Devi, wife of Kewal Kumar of Lale-Da-Bagh Domana was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared her as brought dead.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed to family members for last rites.
However, acting swiftly, a team from Police Post Pouni Chak led by SI Dilawar Kumar arrested the driver of the dumper, who was identified as Uttam Singh, son of Ashok Singh, a resident of Sohal Akhnoor.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
