District Kabaddi Championship commences

JAMMU, June 2: District Kabaddi Championship organized by Jammu District Kabaddi Association in collaboration with Unique Public Higher Secondary School (UPHSS) Gadigarh got underway at UPHSS, here today.
Nicodemus, a builder and colonizer inaugurated the championship in an impressive, well attended, and colourful function. Others present on the occasion included Jasbir Singh, Chairman Unique Public School, Ram Sarup Gupta, Ex-Vice President Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Om Parkash Mahajan, Ex Secretary Akhil Bhatiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta General Secretary J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, BS Tirthi Vice President, Surinder Mohan Joint Secy, Anil Modi, Press Secretary and Dinesh Gupta District Secretary, Jammu District Kabaddi Association. 30 teams in boys and girls sections are participating in the championship.
Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Ankush Gupta, Harbans Singh, Tarndeep Singh, Amrik Singh of BSNL Department and other senior players conducted the matches.

Boys section: Phallian Mandal School outplayed Humanity Public School by 27 Points, Humanity Public School scripted narrow win over Stephen International School by 3 points, Shiv Public School lost to Blue Bird School by 18 points, APS Akhnoor outplayed Shiv Public School by 10 Points, Bharti Shiksha Mandir thrashed DBN Vikas Nagar by 35 Points, KV Akhnoor defeated Vishwa Bharti by 9 Points, Vishav Bharti outclassed Govt School Badyal by 24 points, Unique Public School drubbed Pooja Hr Sec School by 36 Points and APS Akhnoor scripted narrow win against Blue Bird High School by 2 points.
