POONCH, Aug 29: 31st Poonch Table Tennis Championship, organised by the District Table Tennis Association got underway at Sports Stadium, here today.
In cadets final, Gurasees beat Waseem by 2-0 sets (11-8, 11-9), whereas in sub junior boys, Ashutosh Luthra trounced Ridhul Kashyap by 11-06, 11-08 and Yuvraj Luthra defeated Kamran by 11-04, 11-07.
In semifinals matches, Gurasees beat Waseem by 11-06, 08-11, 11-07, whereas Ashutosh trounced Yuvraj by 11-5, 11-03 and Gurasees will fight Ashutosh in sub junior boys final on tomorrow.
In junior boys, Ansh Tondon beat Mirdul Kashyap by 11-5, 11-8, whereas Zaffer Ahmed defeated Gurasees by 11-8, 11-9 and Akshit drubbed Waseem by 11-08, 11-08 besides Pratham beat Danish by 11-09, 11-08, while Ridhik beat Ansh by 11-06, 11-08 and Pranav trounced Akshit by 11-6,11-7.
Ridhik will lock horns with Zaffer in the junior boys final on tomorrow.
