Inter-District Kabaddi girls competitions get underway

JAMMU, June 2: As part of Annual Calendar of Activities by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the Divisional Level Inter-District Kabaddi Under-14 and Under-17 years girls competitions got underway at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today.
About 250 players drawn from all 10 districts of Jammu division are participating in the tournament with an aim to win the top honours and get selectors nod to be picked to represent Jammu division team for Inter-Division competitions.
All the players displayed skill, class and motor-ability and gave their hundred percent despite hot and humid climatic conditions.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of SS Bali, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
Meanwhile, in kabaddi Under-14 girls, Rajouri trounced Doda by 5 points (11-6), Samba thrashed Poonch by 21 points (27-6), Reasi beat Udhampur by 3 points (24-21), Jammu drubbed Kathua by 20 points (25-20), Poonch got better of Doda by 4 points (8-4), Kathua crushed Ramban by 22 points (28-6) and Jammu clinched 11 point win over Udhampur (21-10).
In Pool-A of Under-17 girls, Rajouri outplayed Poonch by 10 points (18-8), Doda scripted narrow win over Samba by 4 points (21-17), Kishtwar outclassed Doda by 3 points (31-28), Samba prevailed upon Poonch by 12 points (17-5) and Rajouri defeated Doda by 6 points (13-7).
In Pool-B of Under-17 girls, Reasi got 4-point win over Udhampur (18-14), Jammu trounced Kathua by 15 points (22-7), Kathua drubbed Ramban by 12 points (14-2), Jammu beat Udhampur by 4 points (9-5), Reasi thrashed Ramban by 17 points (20-3) and Jammu scripted a thrilling win over Reasi by 2 points (13-11).
