JAMMU, July 5: To review and redress the public grievances at their doorsteps, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today conducted a series of public meetings at Khawta, Gajoogan, Serh, Lalldachobra and Panaya.
During these public meetings, the people projected various demands and problems of their respective areas seeking an early redressal to the same.
The issues raised by the people of these border areas included installation of electric poles, improvement in water supply, timely completion of ongoing development works and speedy execution of rural development works etc.
Interacting with the people on the occasion, Tara Chand said that it is the endeavour of the Government to provide all basic facilities to the people, adding that a well conceived programme has been devised to address all public issues in a phased manner. He said that provision for better healthcare, education, PHE and road connectivity are the priority sectors for the Government. He sought people’s cooperation in effective implementation of all Government schemes so that benefit could reach to the needy.
Tara Chand took strong notice of slow pace of progress on various works inspite of strict instructions to the concerned officers, issued earlier, and asked them to redouble their efforts to ensure timely completion of these vital works so that people may not have to suffer any more.
Responding to demands and grievances of the people, the Deputy Chief Minister assured the people of various villages that their genuine issues would be considered and redressed in a time bound manner.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to look into all the issues raised by the people of these villages and initiate necessary steps for early redressal of the same.
Among others accompanied the Dy CM were SDM Akhnoor, Tehsildar, Engineers of different departments, BDO and other senior officers.
