KATHUA, Aug 30: A speeding truck today hit a scooty and killed its rider in Haria Chack area.
According to a police official, at about 8.40 this morning, a truck (bearing registration number JK08B-5349) driven in a rash and negligent manner by Chaman Lal son of Karam Chand of Sanjimore (tehsil Marheen district Kathua) hit a Scooty bearing registration number JK08E-4403.
He said the scooty rider whose identity was yet to be ascertained, was killed on the spot. “The body of the deceased was shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Rajbagh and further investigation started,” the official added.
