Shivam, Harsheen win boys/ girls open Chess titles

KATHUA, Aug 31: Shivam Sharma and Harsheen Kour emerged winners of Chess Championship and lifted open titles of both boys and girls respectively, organised by District Chess Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at TDS College, here today.
In boys category, Karam Sambyal remained 2nd, while Purav Mahajan and Jitin Gupta stood 3rd and 4th respectively.
In girls category, Ridhima Gupta bagged 2nd prize, whereas Jigayasa and Mriganka Sangra won 3rd and 4th prizes respectively, besides in boys under-14 category, Amandeep Singh won the title, while Raghav Sharma stood 2nd and Bhavesh Singh bagged 3rd prize.
In under -10 boys category Paras Sharma won the title, whereas Udhav Sharma and Rajdeep Singh remained 2nd and 3rd respectively, besides in youngest Chess player trophy of Kathua went to Aanhad Dhillon in six years category, whereas Amandeep stood 2nd.
About 57 players participated in the event in different age categories.
