JAMMU, Sept 1: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) held a meeting under the leadership of its President Kundan Kashmiri and discussed the grave issues being faced by the displaced KP community.
In the meeting, KPC leaders and activities again demanded to Lt Governor J&K Manoj Sinha for taking urgent measures for verification, inventory and demarcation as well as removal of encroachment of all KP religious properties in the Valley as per previous revenue records.
The meeting also discussed about the distress sale issue of KPs property in the valley viz-a-viz submitting again information by displaced KP families to the Government.
In this regard, KPC President Kundan Kashmiri stated that it is most unfortunate that victim displaced KPs are being asked again and again to submit such information related to their land, and other properties, when these displaced KPs have already submitted such information to Relief Commissioner’s Office in Jammu about couple of years back.
He said that inspite of asking displaced KPs to fill the forms and completing other formalities in respect of distress and other sale made by KPs after their forced exodus in 1990 onwards, all their left out properties which include land, houses, shop, orchards etc to be directly taken by the district authorities in their control as being custodian of the said property and later on to be handed over to the concerned displaced KP families.
He said that voter identity cards to be also issued to all displaced KPs who have completed all electoral formalities time to time including recently this year too at Jammu. Concerned electoral authorities of Jammu and Kashmir are requested to do the needful at earliest in this regard.
KPC President Kundan Kashmiri also appealed to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Jammu AK Pandita to take up these above issues with the concerned authorities at the earliest being Nodel Agency of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
