One dies, 100 test +ve in J&K, 5 in Leh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Sept 1: One person died of COVID-19 and 94 tested positive in the Kashmir valley today while 16 new cases were reported in Jammu division and five in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Three districts in the Jammu region including Reasi, Kathua and Samba didn’t report even a single new case while five districts–Udhampur, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban reported one COVID positive case each.
Seven cases were registered in Jammu and four in Doda.
As against 16 new cases, 29 persons recovered from the virus today.
Jammu region now has 1,20,039 Corona cases. Among them, 305 are active positives while 1,20,568 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2166 casualties.
All five cases in the UT of Ladakh were reported from Leh district.
Corona count in Ladakh has gone up to 20560. However, there are only 69 active cases (49 in Leh and 20 in Kargil) as 20284 patients have been treated and there were 207 casualties—149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 94 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 52 from Srinagar, 7 from Baramulla, 18 from Budgam, 1 from Pulwama, 4 from Kupwara, 6 from Bandipora, 4 from Ganderbal, 1 from Kulgam and 1 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 72,501 positive cases including 835 deaths and 71,143 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,945 including 282 deaths and 23,522 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,211 including 22,862 recoveries and 207 deaths are from Budgam, 15,342 including 15,101 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,247 including 166 deaths and 14,048 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,452 including 16,222 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,644 cases including 9,501 and 101 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,129 including 10,004 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,420 including 11,296 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,599 including 5,534 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 202,490 including 199,233 recoveries and 2,243 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,319 including 1,014 from Kashmir division.
With 120 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 319,801 which is 98.25 percent of the total cases.
