JAMMU, Sept 1: J&K BJP Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan today said that recent statement of NC president and MP, Dr. Farooq Abdullah regretting his party’s decision of not contesting Panchayat and BDC elections and expressing willingness to take part in electoral process in future, is reflective of the change in policy of the regional party in view of J&K fast moving ahead under new dispensation after its reconstitution.
Balbir said that a glance at the past experience, one may not trust what is being uttered by the former Chief Minister but still we should hope that good sense prevails on him and he stops making one statement on one occasion and a different statement on other occasion.
He said if NC is genuinely committed to be part of the democratic institutions and stands to take part in future elections, it should disassociate itself from People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration for working against the sovereignty of Indian Parliament, which has abrogated Article-370, legally and constitutionally.
On Dr. Farooq’s assertion that his party will win the next assembly elections in J&K, the BJP Spokesperson said that it is like day dreaming.
