Mir distributes prizes among PCL winners

BANAGUND, July 6: The Premier Cricket League at Banagund concluded today with victory title going to Mahmoud Abad cricket team. 64 teams drawn from across the Anantnag district participated in the tournament. The Final Match was played between Qazigund cricket team and Mahmood Abad team.The cricket tournament was organized by Banagund, Verinag Sports Committee to provide the platform to the youth of the area to showcase their sports talent.
Minister for Tourism, Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Mir, the chief guest on the occasion distributed trophies among the winner and runner up teams. He also presented cash awards to the winner and runner up teams.
Addressing the gathering at the valedictory function on the occasion, the Minister said Government contemplates to construct indoor stadia in all major towns of the State to facilitate players for carrying out varied sports activities especially in winter months. He said for the purpose an ambitious plan has been drawn up by the Government.
