Army constructs Badminton Courts for Uri schools

Winners of Inter-School Quiz competition being felicitated by Army in Uri.

SRINAGAR, July 6: Army today handed over two two Badminton Courts to two schools in North Kashmir’s border town of Uri.
The Courts were constructed by 150 Field Regiment out of their own funds, at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School and New Light English Medium School, Uri. In addition, complete badminton kits were procured and handed over to the schools by the unit.
Maj Gen VG Khandare, GOC 19 Infantry Division inaugurated the courts at a ceremony organized at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Uri. The General also distributed prizes to the students who were the winners and runners up of the Inter-School Quiz competition held earlier in the day which was conducted by 150 Field Regiment.
In addition National Defence Academy examination and SSB interview preparation books were handed over by the General to the Principal of Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Uri.
A training capsule on how to join the NDA was earlier conducted by 150 Field Regiment for the students of Govt Boys Higher Secondary School. Later the General Officer interacted with the students and staff of various schools of Uri that were present for the event.
