POONCH, Sept 4: District Poonch Soft Tennis Championship concluded here today at sports stadium.
The championship was organized by District Soft Tennis Association Poonch under the aegis of Amateur J&K Soft Tennis Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
About 100 boys and girls players participated in the championship.
Sohail Malik DDC Member was the chief guest on the valedictory function while Nirdosh Kumar Incharge manager Sports stadium Poonch, Pawan Kumar (PEL), Sarfaraz Ahmad vice president JK Soft Tennis Association, Mustaq Ahmed Boxing Coach, Vikas Sharma, Pervaiz Ahmed Malik chairman EHSAAS Foundation Poonch, Gurwinder Singh and Shabbir Malik were also present.
In U-19 boys, Arpit Sudan, Altaf and Rehan emerged winners, whereas in U-17, Shiv and Zaheer secured first and second positions respectively. In U-14, Sohail and Rajesh secured first and second positions respectively.
In U-14 girls Mehnaz and Afreen secured first and second positions respectively, in U-17 Muskan and Ruksana secured first and second positions respectively and in U-19, Afsana and Iram secured first and second positions respectively.
The matches were officiated by Sajjad, Mukhtar, Sarfaraz, Manzoor and Ajaz.
The championship was technically supervised by Ghulam Hassan General Secretary and Sarfaraz Ahemd vice president and coordinated by Zulfikar Ahmed president Poonch Soft Tennis Association, Manzoor general secretary and Mohammad Iqbal treasurer.
