SRINAGAR, July 7: Jammu and Kashmir Police XI defeated Saffalo ‘A’ in the Super Division match of the ongoing State Power Development Corporation Annual League Football Tournament 2013, being organized by J&K Football Association DFA Srinagar at Polo Ground, here.
Though, both the teams failed to score any goal in the first half despite brilliant efforts, yet JKP XI looked a well knit side in the second half and scored back to back goals to win the match by three goals to nil (3-0). For JKP XI, Asif pelted the first goal in 65th minute, while Sandeep and Manmohan Singh netted goals in 70th and 73rd minute respectively.
In ‘A’ Division match, AG’s Office scripted a solitary goal win over Kashmir United Football Club and the goal scorer was Shahnawaz, who netted it in 60th minute of the match.
Earlier, in ‘B’ Division, Nishat FC defeated Majid Bagh by two goals to nil (2-0), Silver Star Lasjan got better of Kashmir Mughals by three goals to nil (3-0), DPS Srinagar blanked Sheikhulalam FC by four goals to nil (4-0) and Burnhall School thrashed Peer Bagh FC by four goals to nil (4-0).
