KATHUA, Sept 8: Thousands of people have been disconnected with the road connectivity on Katli-Malhar road in Bani constituency of Kathua district due to negligence of the department concerned.
In a statement to the press, Apni Party leader, Yasir Choudhary said that it was unfortunate that the Department and administration in Kathua gave no heed to the repeated appeals from the people to start work on Katli-Malhar road which is disconnected following landslide and soil erosion.
“One month has passed but no measure has been taken by the concerned Department to re-establish road connectivity on this road and thousands of people have been left without road connectivity which has added to the suffering of the people in these remote places of Bani,” he said.
He said that the Government should look into the issue and take strict action against the authorities concerned for the grave negligence which has deprived the poor population of road connectivity.
He said that a large portion of the road has been washed away last month, but it still awaits repair work.
