SRINAGAR, Sept 11: Syed Tajuddin FC and Qamarwari FC scripted emphatic wins over Towheed FC and Saffalo FC by 3 goals to nil and 2 goals to 1 respectively in DFA Football League, being played at Synthetic Turf TRC, here today.
In the high speed match between Syed Tajudin FC and Towheed FC, the former defeated the latter by 3 goals to zero. Both the teams played attacking Football throughout the match and it was a high scoring match. The forward lines of both the teams kept each other’s defence lines busy. But it was Syed Tajuddin FC, who managed to find the net more often than the opposite team. Aftab scored 1st goal in the 5th minute, while Lucky doubled the lead in the 32nd minute and Danish netted the last goal in the 80th minute of the match.
The 2nd match turned out to be a classic as both the teams displayed the skills and cool temperament throughout the 90-minutes of the play. In the first 19-minutes of the match, both teams attacked each others’ goalpost frequently, but the defence lines withheld the pressure and didn’t allow any goals to be scored. It was Firdous who broke the jinx in 20th minute of the play when he opened the account for Qamarwari FC. In 26th minute Faizan doubled the lead for Qamarwari FC.
The second half also proved to be mouth watering as no team was ready to give even an inch. In the last 10 minutes of the play, both teams made several attempts to score but only Saffalo FC succeeded to find the net through Naveed and the match ended with 2-1 in favour of Qamarwari FC.
The tournament is being organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
