JAMMU, July 8: Ex-Policemen League held a meeting, during which number of issues pertaining to the welfare of retired police officials and officers were discussed.
The meeting was presided over by KS Sambyal, who said that some of the retired police personnel are in the grip of serious ailments, requiring costly treatment, which they cannot bear and desired that their parent department should come forward for their help.
He also demanded Rs 10,000 on spot in case of death of retired police personnel through special representative of the Police Department, specs and heating machines to be provided to the needy retired NGO and other ranks through police hospital.
Sambyal also demanded allotment of the accommodation for the league office in district police lines and all the SHOs may be directed to visit once in every quarter of the year at the residence of the retired police officers/officials to enquire about his health and welfare.
The meeting was attended by Bachan Singh, PR Sharma, KK Gupta, Vishwa Paul Gupta, Yudhvir Anand, BL Garyali, Durga Dass Sharma, RK Bali, Sagar Singh Jamwal, Mohd Saleem, Choudhary Bhag Ram, Surjeet Singh Jamwal, Balwant Singh Jamwal, etc.
