Cultural Academy organizes Music, Painting competition

Children busy in making paintings during On Spot Music and Painting competition in Kargil.

KARGIL, July 10: Contin-uing Academy’s pursuit for talent hunt among the children of the far flung areas of Kargil District in the field of music and visual arts coupled with the objective to inculcate musical and painting skills among the rural children of different age groups, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kargil today  organized  a Childrens’ On Spot Light Music Competition and On Spot Painting Competition, here today.
The competition was organized among the children of 16 to 21 years at Government Higher Secondary School Panikhar, Kargil. Around 60 students including boys and girls participated in the day-long competition, which mesmerized the entire gathering on the occasion.
In the Light Music competition, Zainab Banoo secured the first prize, Zainab Bano the second prize and Saraa Banoo the third prize, while in the Painting competition, Nusrat Batool secured the first prize, Muzaffar Hussain got second, while Ghulam Muhammad claimed the third prize. Aga Syed Abbass, Councilor was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the students and teachers after distributing certificates of merit and cheques among the prize winning children, he appreciated the role of Cultural Academy Kargil for having organized such children based competitions in rural and far flung areas of Kargil.   Nissar Naseem, Progr-amme Head at All India Radio Kargil and Zainab Bee, Incharge Principal of Higher Secondary School Panikhar were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Muhammad Ali Tak, Cultural Officer presented welcome address. Later, Nazir Hussain SOCA-GI presented vote of thanks.
