Aryan Ibex lifts Ladakh Premier League T-20 Cup

LEH, Sept 29: Aryan Ibex lifted the Ladakh Premier League T/20 Cup, organised by Fire and Fury Corps under Sadbhavana project at Nawang Dorjay Stobdan (NDS) Stadium, here today.
The three weeks long tournament commenced on September 13 and witnessed some scintillating Cricket. It also witnessed individuals from a variety of cultures and backgrounds reaching new heights together and connecting with each other through cricket.
The tournament was played in two phases with Phase-I being concluded at five Zones viz Nubra, Kargil, Karu, Nyoma and Leh. Two teams each from all Zones fully sponsored by local Army formations have participated in Phase-II being conducted at NDS Stadium.
Today’s in a nail biting and exhilarating match Aryan Ibex scored 172 runs and in return team Maryul Tigers scored 165 runs in stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by 7 runs.
LAHDC Leh Chief Executive Councillor Advocate Tashi Gyalson graced the ceremony as chief guest and gave away prizes to teams along with SS Khandare, IPS, ADGP Ladakh Police and Major General Akash Kaushik, Chief of Staff Headquarters 14 Corps.
CEC Tashi Gyalson in his speech appreciates the Army for organizing the tournament and added that such a platform helps the budding sports person from Ladakh region to reach at National and International level.
The prizes included winners and runners up trophies with cash award Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 20,000 each bagged by Aryan Ibex & Maryul Tigers’ team, while consolation cash award of Rs 5000 was given to all participating teams. Other awards including best bowler award was bagged by Stanzin Dorjay, while best batsman award was bagged by Rigzen Dorjay and man of the match went to Lobzang Timet besides man of series award clinched by Rigzen Dorjay.
