Jammu, July 13: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, based at Samote, distributed the sports items to the Govt Middle School, Kandi, Tehsil Kotranka, under the aegis of Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform), as part of ongoing Operation Sadbhavana, today.
The aim of the distribution of sport items was to give an impetus to the sports facilities in the life of students hailing from border and far flung areas.
On the occasion, Officer Commanding of the Company, based at Kandi, handed over the sports items to the Headmaster of Govt Middle School, Kandi in the presence of Mohd Shabbir, Head Master, Govt Middle School, Kandi, School Staff, Ayub Balwan, Sarpanch of village Upper Kandi, Mohd Mirza Manir, Sarpanch of village Lower Kandi and Eight Panchs of the village Kandi.
The distribution function was attended by a large gathering of the villagers and other prominent persons of the area. A small cultural programme was presented by the students of the school.
