JAMMU, Oct 12: National Conference (NC) provincial president, Rattan Lal Gupta today stressed on the need for ensuring economic emancipation and political empowerment of the weaker sections of society in J&K.
Addressing functionaries and prominent workers of NC OBC Cell here today, Gupta favoured for sympathetic consideration by the government in streamlining the process of issuing category certificates, making it one-time and raising the slab criteria of creamy layer.
Addressing the gathering Co-Chairman OBC Cell, Abdul Gani Teli flayed the administration for neglecting the aspirations of unemployed youth and weaker sections of the society.
He demanded implementation of 27 per cent quota as has been done in several other States of the country.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Abdul Gani Malik, Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Bimla Luthra, Bashir Ahmed Wani, Anil Dhar, Pardeep Bali, Pyare Lal Sharma and others.
