Festival seasons coupled with marriage ceremonies have started and are expected to last full two months . A general and cursory view of how many were following COVID related safety guidelines , the basic ones, reveals an unsatisfactory position. That just 13 per cent of the people used masks and half as much social distancing is tantamount to live under illusions of the dreaded virus having gone away. It is not gone but trying to exploit to the hilt the breaches in safeguard protocol to strike with lethal proportions.
Data on different parameters of how to adhere to precautionary and preventive measures reveals likely more higher levels of socialising , shopping and community events thus increasing the vulnerability of infections spreading .It is astonishing to find that even basic precaution of wearing a mask is thought now to be unnecessary not to speak of strict social distancing. How can lessons drawn from the previous two waves be so easily forgotten is a pertinent question. Since perhaps even in such critically sensitive matters also we need policing , concerned authorities therefore must enforce the precautionary protocol strictly to avoid resurrection of the pandemic albeit the third wave which as predicted has fortunately not arrived and which must be all prevented by the people by observing precautionary norms as the alternative is the inevitable grief and all harm.
