REASI, Oct 15: Three days 15th Reasi District Open Fencing Championship-2021 (Men & Women) commenced at J&K Sports Council’s Multipurpose Indoor Hall, here today.
The event is being organized by Reasi District Fencing Association (RDFA) under the aegis of Ad-hoc Committee, J&K Amateur Fencing Association from 15th to 17th October. About 80 fencers from different Schools, Clubs and Colleges are participating in the event.
The tournament was declared open by the vice president of the Association Rajinder Kumar in the presence of Ajay Kumar, Ravinder Kumar, Anil Thakur, Rohit Panjgotra and Sumit Gandotra.
The matches were officiated by Kamal Kumar, Parvinder Sharma, Gourav Thakur and Parshant Chib.
In under-10 foil boys, Arunesh Verma and Rajveer Verma clinched top two medals respectively, whereas bronze medals was shared by Sumit Bhagat and Mohd Kamran, whereas in under-12 sabre boys, Gold and Silver were secured by Pranav Thakur and Ravinder Singh and Manas Sharma and Shivya shared bronze medal and in under-12 foils boys, Aman Verma and Varun Bhagat won two top medals respectively and Sharavan Verma and Avineet Kalaria jointly clinched bronze medal, besides under-12 foil girls, Deepakshi Bhagat, Khushi Kumari and Simran Devi clinched top three medals respectively, while in under-17 sabre girls, Preeti Devi and Deepika stood 1st and 2nd while Sonia Akhter and Simran Sajgotra shared 3rd position and in under-20 epee girls, Pihul Rajput and Preeti Devi remained 1st and 2nd while Vanshika and Aditika Salmat shared 3rd place.
