Rajouri girls lift twin Kabaddi titles

JAMMU, June 3: District Rajouri girls displayed skill and class besides showing motor-ability, anticipation and sharp reflexes to claim U-14 and Under-17 titles in the Divisional Level Inter-District Kabaddi Tournament, which concluded at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the supervision of SS Bali, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, who along with District Youth Services and Sports Officers Mohd Ayaz Khan and Dr Swaran Singh Chib distributed trophies and certificates among the winners and runners-up teams.
Earlier, in kabaddi Under-14 girls, Rajouri outplayed Jammu by 7 points (27-24) in the finals to lift the title trophy, while in semifinals in this category, Rajouri registered a narrow win by 3 points over Reasi (27-24) and Jammu drubbed Samba by 15 points (25-10).
Meanwhile, in Kabaddi Under-17 girls, Rajouri scripted a thrilling win over Samba by 2 points (19-17) to win the title, while in semifinals Samba and Rajouri outclassed Jammu and Reasi by 15 and 18 points respectively.
