JAMMU, Oct 23: All J&K 1947 POJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum convened a meeting here today under the presidentship of Amrik Singh which was also addressed by Surjit Singh secretary of the Forum.
The Forum, while expressing its satisfaction over the visit of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to J&K at a time when the terrorists’ violence has increased and minorities were made the safe targets, expressed the hope that his visit will lead to wiping out of terrorism from its roots in Kashmir.
It urged the MHA to take the harsh steps to root out the terrorism so that confidence be restored amongst the minorities. It further reiterated that the employees working in Government offices in Valley be provided security so that the mass migration will not take place again.
The Forum expressed concern over the delay in release of remaining comprehensive package of Rs 30 lac to each POJK displaced family of 1947and an indifferent attitude of Government in this regard.
The Forum reiterated that Prime Minister, Narinder Modi in an election rally in the year 2019 at Jammu had announced a special package of Rs 80 000/ crore for J&K in which package of PoJK DPs was also included.
It said that over seven decades have passed neither the left out moveable and immovable properties claimed got registered nor the proper rehabilitation and financial package has been settled. It turned the attention of Home Minister towards his speech in Parliament while scraping of Article370 and 35A when he said that after the scraping of Art.370 and 35A the problems of West Pakistani refugees vis a vis POJK refugees will be settled.
But the citizens rights to the WP refugees have been granted and the issues pertaining to POJK 1947 DPs are still not resolved. The Forum appealed the HM to settle the pending demand by releasing the comprehensive package as promised.
