JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Oct 28: Ninety eight persons today tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir while eight new cases of viral infection were reported from the Union Territory of Ladakh. One COVID death was also reported from Kashmir division
Ninety one cases were recorded in Kashmir and seven in Jammu region.
Among seven cases, three were registered in Jammu district, two in Doda and one each in Rajouri and Reasi districts.
Fifteen persons recovered from the virus leaving number of active cases in the Jammu region to 113.
Among eight fresh COVID positive cases in Ladakh, six were reported in Leh and two in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 47 active positive cases including 43 in Leh and four in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 91 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 50 from Srinagar, 17 from Baramulla, 11 from Budgam, 5 from Kupwara, 3 from Anantnag, 1 from Bandipora and 4 from Ganderbal.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 207,658 including 204,652 recoveries and 2,256 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 863 including 750 from Kashmir division.
With 72 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 326,668 which is 98.41 percent of the total cases.
