KATHUA, Oct 28: Two persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Kathua and Samba district today.
As per reports, an old aged person was killed in a road accident which took place at Ramkot on Billawer road. The deceased was identified as Munshi Ram 95, son of Shamu resident of Makwal, Ramkot. Police said the old man was walking on the footpath along the road when a speedy bus bearing Registration No Jk21B 2825 on the way from Udhampur to Billawar hit the pedestrian. He died on the spot. Ramkot police has registered a case and seized the bus and started investigation into the matter.
Police said a 71-year-old man died in a road accident near Thandi Khui in Vijaypur tehsil of Samba district today. He was crossing the Jammu -Pathankot National Highway near Thandi -Khui of Vijaypur and suddenly a speeding vehicle hit him and fled away from the spot.
He was seriously injured in the accident and was rushed to the Vijaypur Hospital by police with the help of local people where the doctor declared him as brought dead. The deceased has been identified as Subhash Chandra Gupta, son of Hira Anand, resident of Shiv Nagar, Jammu. At the same time, the body was taken to Ramgarh Hospital for post-mortem. Later the body was handed over to the relatives for the last rites. The police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
Meanwhile, a young woman died in mysterious circumstances at her in laws residence at village Nihalpur under jurisdiction of Nagari Police Station. As per report Nagari Police got the information from woman’s parents that she was allegedly killed by her husband at her residence. A Police team immediately rushed to the spot and started investigation into the matter.
The body of woman was shifted to GMC Kathua for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Shashi Bala, 38, wife of Amit Kumar residents of village Nishalpur. The parents of deceased woman alleged that she was mercilessly beaten up by her husband this morning. Her husband was harassing her repeatedly. The body of woman was handed over to family members for last rites after postmortem. The Nagari Police has started questioning of her in laws and her husband into the matter.
