JAMMU, Oct 29: Former MLC Ashok Khajuria in presence of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Physical Director Jammu University today inaugurated 27th Men and 13th Women Senior J&K Wrestling Championship-2021, organized by Wrestling Association of J&K at Wrestling Hall University of Jammu.
The championship is being organised under the auspices of Wrestling Federation of India, J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Khajuria encouraged the young talent and gave their best wishes to the participating wrestlers and congratulated the organizers who organized the event in a very smooth manner. Welcome Address was presented by Dushyant Sharma- former International wrestler of India.
Prominent citizens including former wrestlers were part of the opening ceremony along with Raju Sharma, treasurer J&K Wrestling Association, Vijay Pahalwan, Om Parkash, Ravinder Kumar and Anil Kumar.
Jai Bharat was appointed as tournament director of the championship while international wrestling coach, Sahil Sharma was appointed as technical chairman.
A total of 130 participants from all districts of Union Territory along with J&K Police Central Sports Wrestling team are taking part in the championship.
