Srinagar, Nov 2: The much-awaited final match of the Zone Level T20 Cricket Tournament organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Srinagar at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium Srinagar was played today between CKR Lions and NKR Chargers.
After winning the toss, NKR Chargers decided to bowl first and restricted Lions to 136 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, NKR chargers displayed an outstanding show with the bat and dominated the overall play by achieving the target in the 19th over.
A colourful presentation ceremony was held after the match was over and players were felicitated with mementoes, merit, participation certificates and cash prizes among the players.
Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar-IPS attended the function as the chief guest and distributed prizes and cash rewards. On the occasion, DIG CKR Srinagar, SSP Srinagar and other officers were also present.
The tournament was initiated with the celebrations of the Police Flag Day and the aim was to get the cricket players from all across to come forward, expose their potential and move forward towards their cricketing career.
The tournament was scheduled to be played in 4 phases. In the first phase, 8 teams from various zones participated. Thereafter the qualified players were allowed to show their talent at Central Range Level. Then in phase 3, the qualified teams of phase 2 participated in the zone level tournament which started on 20th March 2021 at SK Cricket Stadium Sonwar, Srinagar where 6 teams, 02 each from all ranges of Kashmir Zone participated.
The prize distribution was as under:- Cash reward for best bowler Rs 5000, Cash reward for best batsman Rs 5000, Cash reward for Man of the Series Rs 5000, Cash reward for ground staff Rs 7000, Cash reward for Umpire-1 Rs 9000, Cash reward for Umpire-2 Rs 9000, Cash reward for Scorer Rs 9000, Cash reward for Commentator Rs 9000, Cash reward for Anchor Rs 3000, Cash reward for Runner Up team Rs 40,000 along with a trophy, certificate and medals and Cash reward for Winner Team Rs 60,000 along with Trophy, certificates and medals.
