JAMMU, Nov 8: Second Caddy Golf tournament, organised by Tourism Department, concluded at Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC), Sidhra with prize distribution ceremony, here today.
About 50 golfers participated in the tournament. Former Sports Minister, RS Chib was the chief guest of the closing ceremony, while JP Singh, former IGP, Vijay Saraf, former secretary Amar Singh Club, Manav Gupta, secretary JTGC and Col Kathuria, secretary MEPTA (Miran Sahib) were among the guests of honour.
Besides, prominent persons including RN Sharma, BB Sharma and Dr Ritesh Gupta also graced the event.
Former Sports Minister while addressing the participants after the prize distribution ceremony appreciated the efforts of the Department of Tourism for development of Jammu Tawi Golf Course and also complimented secretary JTGC and his team for the management of the Golf Course.
The chief guest also thanked the Government for its decision to establish a Golf Academy at Sidhra which will go a long way to provide opportunities for golfers. He further added that, it is important to mention here that, the UT Government has decided to develop Sansar Golf Course at Patnitop.
The overall trophy was won by Shakeel Ahmed, whereas the runner up trophy went to Arshad Kohli and Mukesh Sharma was declared as a lucky winner to secure “hole in one” award.
The awards of appreciation were given to Rohit Gupta (coach), Kuldeep Singh and Devinder Singh. RS Chib also extended his special appreciation to Dr Ritesh Gupta for playing a leading role in the technical management of the tournament.
