JAMMU, Nov 8: Indian style wrestling competition (Dangal) was organized at Bathindi, wherein wrestlers from different parts of the country participated.
Two main bouts were played between wrestler Gani Malerkotla Punjab and Roji Pahalwan of Kapurthala, besides between Chhotta Gani from Punjab and Somveer of Rohtak wherein both the bouts ended in a tie.
Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta was chief guest of the event, while former Minister and chairman Panchayati Raj Cell BJP J&K, Sukhnandan Choudhary was guest of honour. They distributed prizes among the wrestlers.
On the occasion, the former Minister said that sports plays an important role in psychological and physical development and there was a dire need to provide an appropriate platform to youth enabling them to exhibit their sports talent.
Sarpanch Sonam Aulakh, Councillor Narinder Singh Bunty, SHO Deepak Pathania, senior BJP leader Engineer Khatana, Wasim Khan, Liyaqat Ali and many others were present during the event.
