YSS beats KU team by 52 runs

SRINAGAR, Nov 8: Youth Services & Sports (YSS) team trounced Kashmir University (KU) team by 52 runs in the ongoing ‘2nd Inter-Department (Employees) T-20 Cricket Tournament’ being played at the University of Kashmir Ground, here today.
Batting first, YSS team led by captain Bilal Shams along with all rounder Parminder Singh YSS scored 195 runs in the stipulated overs, wherein Adil Sofi added 53 runs off 24 balls and Imtiyaz Ahmed and Parminder Singh scored 30 & 24 runs respectively. In reply, the KU team failed to chase the target and bundled out at 143 runs.
Bilal Shamas took 3 wickets by conceding 25 runs while Rafiq Ahmed, Mudasir Ahmed and Parminder Singh each took 1 wicket.
Director Youth Services & Sports congratulated team manager Azhar Hajini and his teammates of the splendid victory and expressed hope that the team will maintain this winning spirit in other matches as well.
It is pertinent to mention here that about 16 teams from various Government departments are participating in the cricket tournament, being organized by the University of Kashmir.
