Army organizes T20 Cricket Championship

BHADERWAH, July 21: Continuing with its efforts for upliftment of local youth of the area by providing an opportunity to showcase their talent and acquire a level of self-confidence, the Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhaderwah, under the aegis of the Counter Insurgency Force (Delta), organised ‘Tinku T20 Cricket Championship’ from July 10, 2013 to July 21, 2013 at village Shankhoja, Bhaderwah in the memory of Tinku Kumar Bhagat.
Keeping in view the popularity of cricket, the Rashtriya Rifles took an initiative to organize Cricket Championship for youths of village Shankhoja and surrounding villages to encourage sports activities.
10 teams participated in the Championship, consisting of players from sports club, schools and colleges.
The matches were played as per existing rules on league-cum-knockout basis.
The final match was played between Shankhoja Organizers and Shikari Brothers of Dandi, Bhadarwah.
The Shankhoja Organizers won by 7 wickets.  The winner and runner-up teams were facilitated with trophies and cash prizes. Individual cash prizes were also given to man of the series, man of the match, best batsman and best bowler.
Later, Pyar Chand, Senior Citizen of Shankhoja presented vote of thanks.
