KISHTWAR, Nov 13: DIG DKR Range Dr Sunil Gupta today visites district Kishtwar to attend the grand finale of 2nd Aman Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament. During his visit, the DIG DKR Range accompanied by the SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt-JKPS, Officers of Army and civil administration visited Aman Memorial at DPO Kishtwar and paid floral tributes to Shaheed DySP Aman Kumar Thakur.
Thereafter, the DIG DKR Range Dr. Sunil Gupta and other senior officers Police/Army & CAPF visited Chowgan Ground to witness the final match of 2nd Aman Memorial cricket tournament played between Sarkoot Youth Club and Kishtwar Warrior.
SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt welcomed DIG DKR Range Dr. Sunil Gupta (chief guest) and highlighted the gallant acts of Shaheed DySP Aman Kumar Thakur in whose loving memory the Aman Memorial Circket Tournament is being organized annually by Kishtwar Police.
Both the final teams played to their skin and after eye -catching competition, team Kishtwar Warriors emerged victorious. Chief guest on the occasion DIG DKR Range Dr. Sunil Gupta congratulated the winning team and appreciated the participants and accordingly distributed the cheque of Rs. 1 lakh to the winner of tournament and Rs. 50,000 to runners up.
Besides, Man of the Series award of Rs. 10,000, Man of the Match award of Rs. 5,000, Best bowler award of Rs. 5,000 and Best Batsman award of Rs. 5,000 were awarded to players also.
While addressing the participants and audience, the DIG DKR Range hailed the supreme sacrifice made by Shaheed DySP Aman Kumar Thakur who got martyred during gun battle with terrorist. The officer appealed the participants and the public to work for the cause of nation and maintain unity and brotherhood which are basic ingredients for peace, prosperity and development of a country.
Addl. SP Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh gave vote of thanks to the Chaired officers and other agencies for their cooperation during the tournament.
