JAMMU, Nov 15: Inter-collegiate Kabaddi tournament for women and Volleyball tournament for men commenced at PV Sindhu Gymnasium Hall of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here today.
Various colleges affiliated with the University of Jammu are participating in the tournaments.
In Kabaddi (women), GDC Kathua beat GDC Jindrah by 29 points, while GCW Udhampur trounced GDC RS Pura by 10 points and GDC Akhnoor defeated GCW Kathua by 29 points, besides GCW Parade got better of GDC Ramnagar by 21 points, while GDC Pouni beat GDC Surankote by 29 points and GDC Kathua trounced GDC Mishriwala by 28 points and moreover, GDC Bhaderwah defeated GDC Chenani by 20 points.
The matches were officiated by the technical panel of experts including Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, Ankush Gupta, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh, Harpreet Singh and Gagan Kumar.
In Volleyball (men) GDC Ramnagar got better of GCET Jammu by 2-0 sets (25-16, 25-21), while PG Department defeated GDC Billawar by 2-0 sets (25-11, 25-15), GDC Poonch beat GDC Marh by 2-0 sets (25-20, 28-26), Dogra Degree College defeated Trikuta College of Physical Education by 2-1 sets (20-25, 25-20, 15-9), GDC Khour beat MIET Jammu by 2-0 sets (25-22, 25-20), GDC Gool trounced GDC Pouni by 2-0 sets (25-15, 25-19), GMC Jammu defeated GDC Chenani by 2-1 sets (22-25, 25-18, 15-9), GDC Bhaderwah got better of GDC Sidhra by 2-0 sets (25-20, 25-18), GDC Paloura drubbed GDC Ramban by 2-0 sets (25-16, 25-18) and GDC RS Pura beat GDC Sunderbani by 2-1 sets (25-13, 24-26, 15-5).
The matches were officiated by the technical panel of experts including Mulkraj Sharma, Amit Sharma, Shubam Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Bhawana Sharma, Amarjeet Singh and Vikas Karlopia.
