MENDHAR, July 24: A 10th class student was admitted to hospital after he was allegedly beaten up by his teacher of local Govt High School today.
The victim has been identified as Zafar Iqbal (15), son of Tehveer Ahmed, resident of Kas Baladi in Mendhar. Parents of the boy alleged that teacher Zahoor Ahmed Qazi at local Govt High School was forcing boy to work in his fields for few days to cut the grass for cattle. The boys refused and the teacher allegedly beaten up the boy mercilessly. The boy got fainted during the corporal punishment.
Later, the boy narrated the matter to the parents and uncle after reaching home. He was shifted to Mendhar Hospital and admitted there under MRD No. 5076. The parents lodged written complaint before SDM Mendhar and at the Police Station for legal action against teacher. The SDM directed the DyCEO to initiate an inquiry and recommend action against the teacher.
