Kathua, Poonch emerge winners in Hockey competitions

UDHAMPUR, Nov 27:  Teams of Kathua and Poonch scripted wins in the UT level Inter-District Hockey competitions, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports at Subash Stadium, here today.
In age group under-15 boys category, Kathua defeated Jammu by 10 goals to nil, while in under-17 category, Poonch trounced Rajouri by 3 goals to 2.
About 170 boys drawn from different seven districts of J&K UT participated in the competitions, whereas Jatinder Mishra, Deputy Director Youth Services & Sports J&K UT was the chief guest on the occasion and Mool Raj Assistant Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu was guest of honour, besides the event was presided over by DYSSO, Udhampur, Swarn Singh.
The competition is being organized under the patronage of Gazanfar Ali, Director YS&S J&K and under the chairmanship of Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.
Speaking   on the occasion, the chief guest blessed the participants and appreciated the DYSSO Udhampur and all the field staff for the smooth and successful conduct of competitions.
All the matches were officiated by Raj Kumar, Sandeep Kour, Nitin Rathore, Ranveet Singh, Mangat Ram, Navjyot Singh, Mukhtyar Khan, Sandeep Verma and Harwinder Singh.
