JAMMU, Nov 27: Third Sub-junior, Junior, Senior and Masters J&K Powerlifting, Bench-press and Deadlift Championship for Men and Women-2021-22, organised by All J&K Power Lifters Association in collaboration with Ultimate Fitness Gym, culminated at Manhas Mahasabha Paloura, here today.
A total of 100 players participated from all parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the championship, wherein Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president Dogra Sadar Sabha was the chief guest, while Girdhari Lal Sharma, owner of Shakti Printer Bishnah was the guest of honour on the occasion.
All the participants, especially women participated in the event with great zest and zeal and won Gold medals. Shradha Koul won Strong Women title in 60kg women category, while Ankush Kumar Tripathi emerged winner of men category and clinched the title of Strong Man in weight category (67-75kg) and Vinod Mahajan clinched Gold medal in weight category 110 kg, besides a handicap namely Manik Bali secured Gold medal in weight category 56 kg.
Rakesh Kumar (General Secretary of All J&K Powerlifters Association) distributed medals among the winners of the respective weight categories, whereas Kuldeep Singh, Vikram Slathia, Varundeep Sharma, Bhanu Pratap Singh and Shobit Verma were judges of the event.
