JAMMU, Dec 4: 15th Christmas Football Gold Cup Tournament, organised by All J&K Sports and Cultural Welfare Association, inaugurated by former Minister of State (MoS), Priya Sethi at GGM Science College Ground, here today.
SM Gill, former MLC and founder president of this tournament, Gazanfar Ali (Director Youth and Sports J&K), Madam Ashu (Joint Director Youth Services and Sports), Anil Masoom (Corporator), David Masih (vice-president), Yousuf Don (general secretary), Vijay Nikhil, Waris Gill (Advocate), Sebastin (treasurer) and Romesh Chander (Football player) were present on this occasion.
The opening match was played between City Football Club and Sainik Colony Football Club, wherein Sainik Colony FC won the match by 3 goals to 1. The 1st goal was scored by A. Nagyal in 25th minute of the game, while 2nd goal was secured by Rajan in 41st minute and 3rd goal was netted by Brij in 61st minute for Sainik Colony FC, while for City FC side, the single goal was clinched by Sangram Singh in 45th minute of the game.
About 18 Football teams are participating in this tournament. The match was officiated by Rocky Sharma, Dil Bahadur, Aman Sudan and Dheeraj Meenia.
Young Hero’s will lock horns with Alliance FC at 2 PM at the same venue tomorrow.
