JAMMU, July 28: Pilgrimage to holy cave shrine of Baba Amarnath ji in Anantnag district of South Kashmir Himalayas today completed one month. A total of 3,27,507 pilgrims have performed darshan at the shrine till late this evening.
Annual 55 days long pilgrimage had started on June 28 and would conclude on August 21 on the occasion of Sharavan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan.
During one month long yatra, 13 persons including 12 pilgrims and one Sevadar have lost their lives.
Official sources said 3286 pilgrims today performed darshan in the cave shrine of Lord Shiva taking total number of yatris, who have paid obeisance to Lord Shiva so far to 3,27,507.
Another batch of 1954 pilgrims today left for the cave shrine from shorter Baltal route while about 1200 pilgrims left from traditional Chandanwari track.
The yatra was progressing smoothly, official sources said.
Meanwhile, a fresh batch of 376 pilgrims today left the Jammu base camp here to visit the holy cave shrine of Amarnath ji in South Kashmir.
A convoy of 13 vehicles carrying the 31st batch of 376 devotees left the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar at around 4:45 am to pay obeisance at the cave shrine in Kashmir Valley.
The batch including 223 men, 50 women, three children and 100 Sadhus reached twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal tonight.
